Young People's Guild (YPG)

The Young People’s Guild (YPG) of the Rev. Friedrich Monninger Congregation, Akosombo, has been an active and vibrant youth ministry within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for decades. The Guild exists to nurture the spiritual, social, and leadership development of young Christians between the ages of 18 and 30, preparing them to serve both the church and society with integrity and devotion. Over the years, the YPG at Akosombo has contributed immensely to the growth of the congregation. Through its involvement in evangelism, church services, community outreach, and youth-themed programmes, the Guild has become one of the pillars of the church’s mission work. The Guild continues to play an important role in raising disciplined, spiritually grounded, and purpose-driven young adults who carry forward the legacy of the church. Purpose & Objectives The YPG exists to: Lead young adults to a deeper understanding of God’s Word. Promote Christian fellowship, moral discipline, and leadership. Support evangelistic activities of the local congregation and district. Equip members to serve in various departments and ministries of the church. Build the spiritual and social lives of the youth through programmes, seminars, and mentorship. Strengthen the bond between the youth and the entire congregation. Activities The Guild engages in a wide range of activities that strengthen both the individual and the church: Bible Studies & Prayer Meetings Seminars & Workshops on leadership, career development, relationship building, and Christian living Evangelism & Outreach to communities and sister congregations Youth Services & Worship Leadership Sports, Games & Social Events to promote unity Clean-up Exercises & Church Support Work Participation in District, Presbytery, and National YPG programmes Through these activities, the YPG continues to uphold the motto of the Presbyterian Church: “That They May Have Life.” Current Leadership The Guild is currently led by a dedicated team committed to the spiritual and social growth of the youth: President: Martinson Boafo Aboagye Vice President: Sorvering Dede Asare Secretary: Joana Armstrong Assistant Secretary: Emilie Asabea Asare Male Organiser: Patrick Achampong Female Organiser: Yvette Amankwah Financial Secretary: Ellen Yeboah Treasurer: Asare Evangelism Secretary: Ebenezer Tetteh This executive team continues to guide the Guild with vision, commitment, and passion.
